What Our Students Say

“Class is really helpful, though in a short duration. Before this class, I could not steam my milk right. By the end of the day, I was pouring my own tulip.” – Sanjay Shakya, 1st batch of One day Latte Art Class.

Why Latte Art Skills Are in Demand Right Now

The taste of the coffee is not the only thing that is being competed in cafes of Kathmandu these days. The visual presentation of each beverage has become equally important, as customers increasingly enjoy photographing their drinks and sharing them on social media. As a result, well-executed and consistent latte art has become a highly valued professional skill. It would be safe to say that clean and good latte art helps in getting a job at these cafes, as the owners understand the importance of the presentation of the drink.

It also has to be said that latte art has turned into an interesting activity in itself, regardless of the cafe business. Many coffee enthusiasts are now eager to learn latte art to enhance their coffee-making skills and create professionally presented beverages.

General Course Outline

  • Intermediate designs, including the rosetta
  • Fully one-to-one practice time with your trainer

Course Overview

The 4-hour session is split between a short theory and demonstration segment and a longer hands-on practice block, roughly one hour of theory and demonstration followed by three hours of hands-on practice.

In the first hour, you get an introduction to latte art and learn how milk properties affect your pour. You practice milk steaming and learn what separates properly steamed milk from over-steamed or under-steamed milk, since silky microfoam is the real foundation of good latte art.

In the second hour, you move into pitcher handling and pouring control, along with cup positioning. This is where you start practicing your first patterns, the heart and the tulip, which build the core wrist and pitcher control that every other pattern depends on.

In the third hour, you move on to the rosetta, the pattern most people associate with professional latte art, along with line control and correcting the common mistakes that come up as pours get more advanced.

The last hour is spent in free pouring and personalized training, which means one-on-one attention will be provided by your trainer to improve your skills during the last hour of the day. You will also learn how to present and serve your latte art properly at the end of the day.
