The United Technical School and HUB International Joint Education Package is a package tailored for students who aspire to equip themselves with practical skills that will enable them to pursue their careers and at the same time be prepared for education and career opportunities in an international context.
This unique course package is a combination of professional hospitality training and language training that prepares students to participate in an international context.
Under this partnership, learners receive not only hands-on technical training but also comprehensive preparation for IELTS or PTE, equipping them with both practical skills and the English language proficiency needed for international study and career opportunities.
Students have the opportunity to develop employability skills and confidently explore other educational and career opportunities beyond Nepal.
It is a balanced package whereby you not only learn how to perform barista jobs in a professional setting but also prepare yourself by improving English language skills for further success in international studies and careers.
United Technical School and HUB International have partnered and offered a package course whereby learners get a professional barista training package along with preparation for IELTS or PTE.
The full bundle costs NPR 18,000. That covers both the barista training at UTS and the IELTS/PTE preparation at HUB International in a single enrollment.
If you are planning to work or study abroad, this is one of the most practical combinations available in Nepal right now. If you want the Barista Training only, the option is also available.
Most international pathways, whether for work or study abroad, require two things: a practical skill and a recognized English score. Getting both usually means enrolling at two separate places, paying two separate fees, and managing two different schedules.
This bundle takes both into one enrollment at one combined cost. You do not have to coordinate between two institutions or pay full price at each. The barista training from UTS and the IELTS/PTE preparation from HUB International run in parallel, so neither delays the other.
Through this collaboration, both institutions work together to provide a seamless learning experience, making the process simpler and more convenient for students. Learners benefit from coordinated training, expert guidance, and a clear pathway toward international employment or higher education, all while saving time, effort, and cost.
For students going to Australia, UK, USA, UAE, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, or the European continent, having both a CTEVT barista certificate and a recognized English score puts you ahead of most other applicants.
Objective:
This module provides a structured learning pathway for students to develop their English language proficiency and master the skills required for IELTS and PTE examinations.
This program runs across two modules at the same time. Module 1 is the barista training at UTS. Module 2 is the IELTS and PTE preparation at HUB International. Both run on separate flexible schedules so neither clashes with the other.
You start with the full coffee journey, from plant to cup, covering harvesting, processing, roasting, and brewing. After that, you move into hands-on equipment training on espresso machines, grinders, and the cafe tools used in real coffee shops.
From there, you learn to prepare 22 varieties of beverages. Hot drinks, iced drinks, and manual brew styles are all covered. This section includes grinding, dosing, tamping, espresso extraction, and recipe preparation.
Milk texturing and latte art come next. You practice Heart, Rosetta, and Swan designs until they are consistent enough for a real cafe environment.
The module also covers cafe opening and closing procedures, hygiene standards, food safety, and customer service. Cleaning, maintenance, and safe handling of coffee equipment run throughout the whole program.
English language skills are the focus of Module 2. You begin by understanding the test formats, scoring systems, and what each exam actually requires. After that, the program works through all four skills.
Listening includes different question types, note-taking, and developing concentration skills in an exam setting. The reading component involves skimming, scanning, and reading faster along with building vocabulary.
The writing section involves IELTS Task 1 and Task 2 along with PTE writing sections. Structure, grammar, idea generation, and vocabulary building are included in this module. The speaking module helps develop fluency and pronunciation along with building confidence.
Regular practice sessions help you find weak areas early so you can fix them before exam day. The module finishes with full-length mock tests, performance evaluation, and direct feedback from HUB International instructors to push your band score before you sit the actual exam.
This program is open to anyone who wants to work or study abroad and needs both a practical skill and an English language score.
It works well if you:
Students must be at least 16 years old. SEE pass or equivalent is the only academic requirement. No prior barista or English test experience is needed.
Both are accepted for work visas and student visas in most countries. However, they work differently and suit different students.

IELTS |
PTE |
|
| Format | Paper or computer-based | Fully computer-based |
| Results | 3 to 13 days | Within 2 business days |
| Scoring | Human assessed | AI automated |
| Test dates | More dates in Nepal | Fewer test dates |
| One skill retake | Yes, retake one section only | Not available |
| Best for | UK, Canada, USA, Australia | Australia, New Zealand, UAE |
First, IELTS now lets you retake just one skill section if you fall short in only one area. So if listening, reading, and writing are fine but speaking pulls your score down, you only redo speaking. PTE does not offer this.
Secondly, as of August 2025, Australia requires that the scores obtained on PTE meet the minimum band score individually for each skill and not on aggregate. Furthermore, PTE Core is not acceptable in Australia, only PTE Academic. If Australia is your target destination, it will be important to check whether you are preparing for PTE Academic.
If you get jittery whenever you have to speak with a human being as the examiner, then PTE is worth considering because everything here is computer-graded and therefore, consistent. If you require more flexible dates or if you intend applying to different countries, IELTS is worth considering.
Not sure which fits your situation? HUB International instructors look at your target country and current English level in the first session and guide you toward the right choice.
A CTEVT barista certificate indicates to the employer you are trained to the national standards and an IELTS/PTE score indicates to visa offices/universities that you are able to use the language of English as dictated by the requirements.
The countries employing Nepali workers in the hospitality sector ask for both.
After completing the bundle, you receive:
The barista certificate is recognized by employers in Nepal and abroad. The IELTS or PTE score is recognized by universities, employers, and visa authorities worldwide.
HUB International Education has been operating as a study abroad consultancy in Kathmandu since 2006. Over 18 years, they have placed more than 5,000 students across 12 or more countries. They work with 500 or more partner universities worldwide.
HUB International is ISO 9001:2015 Certified and ICEF Accredited. They were awarded as Consultancy of the Year in 2024. They can provide training in IELTS and PTE for all four modules, containing the complete mock test and expert feedback.
This is the organization handling the language preparation component of your bundle. Their track record is what makes this collaboration work.
