You’ll get knowledge about fermentation and baking techniques that will impact the end product. After that, we’ll let you to the actual bread-making process, including such varieties as white bread, brown bread, and bread rolls.
You will learn how to create different types of pastry and desserts. Examples: croissants, Danish pastry, puff pastry, and varieties of tarts. Also, you will get to know how each type behaves in the oven.
Working with cakes is something that is learned by practice from the very beginning. The knowledge of layering, icing, and piping is acquired first. You will also learn to create the shape and the structure of the cake, not just decorating it. This is where the creation of birthday cakes and basic fondant work happens.
You’ll get hands-on practice on technique and guidance towards taste too. You’ll find out the secrets of matching the flavors and developing your own recipe.

You just need to be 16 or older and have passed SEE or equivalent. Classes run in Nepali and English, so language won’t hold you back.

After your training, you can also join an internship to get real work experience.
The internship runs for a minimum of 1 month. You can extend it further based on what works for you. Each day, you work a minimum of four hours.
During the internship, the work is unpaid. But for short durations, meals are provided according to your internship placement company’s policy.
If you choose a longer internship at United Coffee Club, approx 3 months as full-time. During a 3-month full-time internship, transportation services is also available during working days.
Once you finish, you receive an experience certificate. The certificate comes from the company you intern with, so the details depend on that company’s own policy.
Students who complete the program get placement support through UTS’s active network of bakeries, hotels, and recruitment partners across Nepal and internationally. Over 1,000 students across all UTS programs have been placed through this network. Placement/Internship support is included in both the 1-month and 3-month programs at no extra cost.

The training takes place in a specialized bakery laboratory provided at United Technical School located at Kumaripati, Lalitpur. It is equipped with industrial oven, industrial dough mixer, cake decorating tools and practical workstations similar to the ones provided in a functional bakery.
The bakery training takes place in groups, thus providing an interactive learning process with a high degree of individual attention.
